As a design agency that has worked with Delga on previous projects, Aligned Design Co, understands the importance of working with the printer from an early stage when launching a new brand. So, when they began working with a new client on the branding for their new venture Romafolli, a skincare range for the scalp, they immediately put them in touch with Delga to assist in the development of the packaging and labels.
It is critical for designers, brand owners, and printers to work together in the design process to ensure that the brand colours are exactly as desired when they are reproduced in print. By being involved at an early design stage Delga was able to provide a scatter proof to enable the client and designer to compare Pantone and 4 colour CMYK equivalents of the brand colours. The designer was then able to supply the final artwork based on the colour
variations that were selected from the scatter proof.
Romafolli owner Tracey Dobby commented that: “The scatter proof was sent very quickly, and we communicated by video with the designer once we had received them. It was a useful exercise to make sure the labels matched the packaging.” Delga also suggested running an additional press proof from the final artwork to get the final sign-off before running the order.
Nancy Poller, Brand Designer and Creative Director of Aligned Design Co shared her experience of working with Delga on this project:
“I was impressed with Delga’s ability to create the beautiful packaging we had envisioned for Romafolli. I had quite a specific combination of texture, colour and embellishments in mind and the team at Delga was happy to work with me to achieve it, including suggesting some beautiful paper stocks and providing the Foilco foils I wanted. The team were responsive and helpful and I’m super happy with the results.”
Brampton felt paper, a textured stock that is acid & lignin free, was used for the packaging. The felt mark finish gives a luxurious feel and was ideal for the natural and organic products. A white PP with a matt lamination was used for the labels. To ensure durability, given the type of product, a sample of the labels was sent to the client to be handled with oily hands to make sure that it repelled the oils and didn’t ruin the label. After receiving delivery of the packaging and labels, Tracey said:
“I got goosebumps and when I get goosebumps, I know it’s right. We were working towards a specific deadline for launch and Delga were able to meet all of these to enable us to have the products professionally photographed before launching. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend your services.”
