A UK-based integrated health supplement manufacturer, specialising in powders and two-piece hard capsules shares their experience of working with Delga Labels.
This article focuses on the assistance Delga Labels gave the manufacturer on the development of labels for a new range of supplements.
Delga Labels is very familiar with supplying directly to the nutraceutical sector and to its fillers, packers, and distributors, so we were well-placed to assist with the label requirements. We spoke to the Director of Quality about their experience of working with Delga Labels to get their thoughts on what it is about working with us from a nutraceutical manufacturer’s perspective that is so important.
The first test of quality for Delga Labels came when we printed the first samples, as they have a colour gradient, which can be hard for some printers to reproduce smoothly and consistently, but for the HP Indigo Digital Press at Delga Labels, it was no problem, and the client agreed saying:
“The labels were the first thing that we had sampled, and they came out really nicely, the best that we had. We’ve had a few machine calls from different printers, and they looked the best and so that’s why we started working with you guys. The standards of the labels are excellent, for our labels we have a colour gradient and it’s so smooth, the way it’s been printed, it looks exactly how we want it to.”
Happy with the samples, the labels went into production, and whilst they weren’t working to any specific deadlines, the client reported that “once we got the ball rolling everything moved very quickly.”
As a result of the success of the first project Delga Labels have produced labels for several ranges for the manufacturer, and although it’s not typical of them to work to a tight deadline, when they do have to, “things have always been delivered on time”.
As with any manufacturer like this, there are specific technical requirements for labels to be applied. These labels are applied using an automatic labelling machine; one right-hand leading and one left-hand leading. Occasionally, they get machine pulls for their customers that want to see the print quality, and it’s usually the backing paper that causes the issues with machines but the client reported that “Delga Labels was perfect.
If you’re thinking about working with Delga Labels, don’t just take our word for it, the advice from the client is:
“Definitely go for it, the timeliness is excellent, the print quality and value-for-money is excellent as well. We had quotes that were significantly cheaper than our normal label manufacturer so it’s made
a massive difference.”
“We have so many moving parts, bottles, lids, labels, materials, and production, so it’s nice to know we don’t have to worry about the label side of things.”
